Spring is here! At least the spring showers (and a few flowers) are. This has been an eventful month in many ways. As you all are experiencing the many changes that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought to our lives, I've been making some changes for other reasons. The pandemic has just sort of sped up my actions.
I want to officially announce that I have started a new bookkeeping business - JLR Bookkeeping, LLC. Right now, it will be in addition to my organizing business, but I will be eventually phasing out organizing. First let me say, I love organizing! So, it's not that I've fallen out of love with this business (or with any of my clients - you all are awesome)! This decision has weighed on me for quite some time. I've finally gotten to the point that I had to admit that changes need to be made in my life for my physical well-being and my future goals. Some of you may know that I had recent shoulder surgery for severe arthritis, which kept me from doing the physical part of my organizing business for a couple of months. I also have been undergoing some injections in my back to combat increasing issues with arthritis. The simple fact is that I cannot sustain the physical part of my organizing business long term without significant impact to my health. I hate acknowledging that, but it's the truth. I'd love to help people with other aspects of organizing, but the bulk of my clients need my help doing the work. If I shut down that part of the business, I'd have few clients left. (Hey, if you know of any businesses or individuals that need help getting paperwork organized or setting up new processes - I can still do that). I also am looking to the future with my husband. He'll be retiring at some point and we both want to travel extensively. I'd love to be in a business that I can take with me. Because I've always loved numbers and actually have a master's degree in accounting, virtual bookkeeping services are the perfect fit for this endeavor. For a while, I'll be handling both businesses - I just can't go cold turkey on the organizing. Especially for current clients that we are in the middle of projects that have been put on hold due to social distancing, and for clients that have unused gift cards - I will be honoring those! Please know that I am here for you and will do my best to meet your needs. Thank you for supporting my business and I look forward to working with you in some capacity in years to come!
